SkyTrain in Bangkok

The two lines Skytrain Bangkok SkyTrain, separated from the underground network, have been operational since 1999 (after a slight delay due to the Asian crisis of 1997). The SkyTrain is officially called the Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS). The population is commonly called รถไฟฟ้า - rot fai fa, rot fai = fire = train carriage, fa = sky, or BTS บี ที เอ ส) Originally it was to use the linear induction motor but has a power of intervention choose the technology is Siemens.


Network

Lines borrow major roads of the capital, over a distance of 26 km and current 25 stations with a match.
Three stations are inter connected since July 2004 with the underground Blue Line (Bangkok Metro). 35 trains of three cars toelectric propulsion succession approximately every 5-8 minutes.
The pricing is at the distance.
Magnetic cards are obtained from vending machines, they are recovered when going out for reuse.
There are subscriptions and pass cards for 1 day, 3 days or a week. Maps also serve as an advertising medium.
